I Believe! Do You?

Faith is a big deal with the Lord.  With God and faith, the Bible says all things are possible.  The Bible says that we need to come to Him with a child’s faith.  You know how kids will believe anything you tell them?  We have to be the same.  It’s blind faith – the type of faith reserved only for God.

Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He Is, and that He Is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6

I love to recall the day, on March 22, 2007, when I was on a gurney in the ER, waiting to be transferred to another hospital for emergency intervention in the cardiac care unit and then, if I were to survive, to be detoxed.  I was experiencing a massive accidental overdose and not expected to survive.  My liver was failing… my kidneys were almost completely shut down… and my heart was beating very irregularly as it pounded in my chest.  My potassium level bottomed out completely so that my heartbeats couldn’t be supported.  I never felt sicker; I don’t think anyone could feel worse than I did back on that day. With all this going on, for a few hours I felt really scared, alone and hopeless.  I figured I would just wait it out until my death.  Then, it happened!  It was a pivotal moment!. I heard a newborn baby crying as he or she was entering this world for the very first time.  This new little life was being born just a few feet away from me.  Usually, when a life comes in, another one goes out; however, this time it wasn’t going to be me who was going out.  Jesus let me know, at that very moment, that I would defy all odds… that He would allow me to live through all of this… that my miracle was on it’s way.  So, instead of waiting to die, I waited to live.  This was the same Jesus who I betrayed by my drug addiction.  His love for me (and all of you) is so great… so unconditional… so righteous… so pure… that He never gives up on us!  Who do you know like that?  As long as you still have love in your heart for Him, and the desire to do your life His way, He won’t ever leave you.

The rest of my story is found in the first several posts on this blog, so I won’t repeat it.  My point is that whether it’s the total healing of addiction, or anything else, God will do it – according to your faith.  In His hometown of Nazareth, He could do not healing because no one would believe that He was the Messiah.  They saw Him only as Joseph’s Son, so they figured there was no way the He was the Christ!  Once Jesus traveled around to neighboring towns, it became a completely different story; EVERYONE was healed, delivered from demonic possession (mental illnesses) and many were even raised from the dead.  Since the Bible says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”, do you not know that He will heal you?

My ongoing impossible dream is to have an IV infusion of faith… one that I can insert in a vein and run it through so that I can give them the faith to believe.  YOU have to find a way to receive and keep your own faith.  It comes with getting the Word of God into your heart and mind by reading your Bible daily and fellowshipping with true born again believers. Above that, PRAISE HIM!  “He inhabits the praises of His people”.

Do You Understand?

We’re in a war.  Addiction is the killer that wants to destroy you.  It’s rampant.  It’s insidious. It’s even promoted and enabled by doctors who you thought you could trust.  It seeks anyone it can.  It overpowers the  young and old, rich and poor, professionals and the uneducated, men and women, children, those in mansions and those who are homeless.  Anyone with breath are it’s victims.  Blink your eyes and it’s already gotten hold of you.

  • For you who are married to a substance abuser, do you understand how and why this happened, and that you can help?
  • For you, parents, do you understand how your child ended up in an addiction, and what you can do about it?
  • For those of you who depend so deeply on a doctor for all of your problems, can you even begin to comprehend the reason why your pain is getting worse and why your health is failing?
  • To you kids, I’m so sorry your parents are using drugs and have seemingly abandoned you and your needs; do you want to know more?
  • To all of you who have a loved one whose personality has radically changed: do you want to know how to tell if it’s because of drugs or alcohol?
  • Are you or your loved one sleeping all the time and you can’t figure out why?
  • Are you, or a loved one, emotionally out of control and being given all of these psychiatric diagnoses that require medications that are making it worse?  Do you want to know why?
  • Have you, or a loved one, become unmotivated and apathetic about work, life and your family?  Want to understand why this could be?
  • Are your prescription drugs for pain, anxiety and depression making you worse, but you’ve convinced yourself that your doctor is always right and would never harm you, so you keep taking them anyway?
  • Does there seem as though there is a dark cloud over you that won’t leave you alone?

stop 9Most people just don’t understand anything about addiction.  Unfortunately, there is a very real stigma associated with it. Many are in denial about it.  Others make a loved one worse because they don’t know anything about enabling.  Some don’t recognize the signs of addiction until they find their loved one blue and dead from an overdose one morning.  There are those who are so lost in an addiction that they can no longer help themselves, so they need to be rescued.  There are enablers out there who think that feeding their loved one will keep them from using again or that, without giving money, they will end up on the streets and die.

Addiction affects EVERYONE!  You either are in an addiction or you have a friend or loved one who is.  You may know someone who overdosed and died.  We need to work together to STOP & PREVENT addition.  Most of all, we need to eliminate the stigma associated with it.  The answer and the solution is God… Jesus Christ.  Laugh at me… mock me… tell me I need to get a life; however, I’m right!  Our ministry in addiction and recovery has proven I’m right.  The Lord saved my life from certain death in 2007 and healed me.  I have never struggled.  My addiction is in my past and does not affect my life in any way except for the good.  I appreciate and love each day because I’m free.  I never take my freedom and healing for granted.  Our ministry works with people to recovery and, soon, we will have an faith based, NON-12 Step healing drug & alcohol rehab up and running here in Montana.

When the current rehab system isn’t working, and more people are dying at a higher rate than ever, continuing in the same way is insanity, isn’t it?  Why do what isn’t working over and over again.  We came up with something miraculously different!  People actually get healed and have new lives.  No one has to do ‘steps’ for the rest of their lives!  That, in itself is bondage.  We get people out of bondage and into freedom.

If you want to have a talk, we’re here for you.  Just go to our contact page and reach out to us.  We just may be able to help.  The talk is FREE.

The Psalm for the Addicted

This Psalm, Psalm 31, is one for the addicted person to read and own.  It was categorized as such by Rev David Wilkerson who went to be with the Lord.  He was (and still is) my hero and mentor. As a matter of fact, I became a certified Teen Challenge PSNC teacher in my recovery ministry because of him, his anointed wisdom from God and his solid teachings about addiction and the cure.

If you’re hurting, this one’s for YOU!

good-cry-960x5401In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord.

I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.

My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies’ sake.

Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.

If… Then!

slide181

Wouldn’t you absolutely love to be able to say, I never have to worry about addiction again… it’s over and done… that was all in my past Well, I’m here to tell you that you absolutely can!  I have been able to declare this and have never had one moment of craving or considering going back to those dark days.  I can also tell you, with 100% certainty, that you also will never ever have to deal with disease, depression, despair or poverty either.  That’s a pretty bold statement you say? Well, it’s in the Bible; I couldn’t make this up.  Below this post, are God’s Words about blessings and curses.  There are many, many other verses that support this; however, I’m not here to re-print the Word of God, so I ask you to please do your own research.  After you have read, studied and researched, then – and only then – you decide.

For now, stay with me and try to trust me.  Please understand that I am not one of those name it and claim it apostate believers; neither am I one of those ridiculous prosperity people.  I am simply a child of God and take the Bible literally – just as God intended me to do. It is a very literal Holy Book.

A little background…

The world says that addiction is a disease from which will stem multiple relapses.  The TRUTH is that addiction being a disease is a theory devised by the two people that started the 12 Steps. They were both constantly going back to their addictions and had to figure out why.  So, they theorized that they had some disease that caused them to constantly relapsed.  By the way, they both died due to their addictions.  The world bought it!  It sounded good to the professionals and professional institutions treating addiction because it meant lots of money.  For those addicted, it was comfy because it gave them the excuse to keep using.  This is all a blatant LIE from the pit of Hell, which means it’s fake.  Addiction, spoken of in the Bible as rebellion – or sin – is fixable.   It’s fixable by receiving Jesus Christ, confessing this sin, and living for Him in all things and in all ways.  This is why I say, Yahweh (the True Name of God – in 3 Persons) is an If… then God.  IF we follow Him, THEN we are blessed in health, daily needs and safety.  Addiction is included in the forgiveness of sin and total healing.  Read your Bible and find out about His Majesty… His Forgiveness… His Love… His Mercy… and His Healing!

On earth as it is in Heaven is reflective of the fact that we can entertain some logic in the Lord’s Words.  Here, I’m talking about the ‘if… then’ principle. Transfer the conditions to which you would reward your children.  Do you or would you reward your kids for good behavior or bad behavior?  Do you or would you reward them for being rebellious or for being observant of your house rules.  Now, take that in the heavenly places with our God.  He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

HIS BLESSINGS FOR OBEDIENCE:

And it shall come to pass, IF thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, IF thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, IF thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; IF that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

THE CURSES FOR DISOBEDIENCE
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.
The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, The Lord Thy God;
Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.
And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

Trust is a Big Deal!

Yeshua bench sepia

Trust is a big deal.  You can’t just have it for anyone.  They need to earn your trust.  If they have ever disappointed you, regaining trust is most difficult.  Trust takes time to earn.  It involves experience after experience where that someone doesn’t ever disappoint you  with lying or deceit.  You know you can finally trust someone when you no longer suspect them of wrongdoing.  Trust is a difficult thing when it comes to humans; however it’s an easy thing knowing that you can blindly trust the God of the Bible – Jesus Christ.  It is He who I personally trust and He has never once betrayed my trust.  Who do YOU trust?  If you can bring yourself to trust HIM, you’re recovery will lead to being fully recovered – never having to worry about addiction ever again.

From Thin to Thick Skin?

Definition of Vulnerable:

  • capable of or susceptible to being wounded or hurt, as by a weapon
a vulnerable part of the body.
  • open to moral attack, criticism, temptation, etc.
  • (of a place) open to assault; difficult to defend

original

We all have one or more points of vulnerability.  If you say you don’t, you’re either lying to yourself or to someone else.  As tags go, some of us claim to be thick skinned, while others of us claim to be thin skinned.  No one is one or the other.  We’re all composed of a little of each because of our innate human vulnerabilities.  I know that if hadn’t been so vulnerable, I probably would never have ended up in an addiction.  It’s those vulnerabilities that makes us want to hide… to run… to be overwhelmed… to use those substances in our bodies that seem to take us away.  I know when I used, I felt numb. When I felt numb, I couldn’t feel those things that thinned out my skin.  It was only a very temporary ‘happy place’ that took me down a path of darkness that I don’t wish on anyone.

Isn’t is our vulnerabilities that make us who we are?  I believe that’s so, except when we allow those vulnerabilities to overtake us.  We truly need to grab hold of them and make them work in our favor.  Never allow yourself to feel helpless or powerless.  In 2 Corinthians 12:10, Paul the apostle, amidst talking about some of the perils he had been through, says, “when I am weak, then am I strong”.  What he’s saying is that when he hits his times of distress or helplessness (vulnerability), His faith in Jesus takes over and brings him to victory!  Those are the times when we cry out to God!  If you have received Jesus – and are walking in His ways – not your own,  you can cry out to Him and immediately gain the strength you need to endure and win!  Don’t let anyone fool you; sometimes you need to go through some tough times in order to get through.  Those tough times are tests of endurance.  You just need to understand that the Lord will hold your hands every step of the way.  He did it for me during the most horrific times of my life; He’ll do it for you.  Never allow yourself to question why… that’s a waste of time.  Just praise God that He will bring you the victory along with the strength to get through.  Through each and every trial I’ve been through, I gained His strength, endurance and unwavering faith.  I wouldn’t be the woman of faith that I am today had it not been for all that I went through.  If you keep up with my blog, you may know some of the trials I endured.

Just always remember that Jesus is right there – at your side and within your soul. His gift to you of His Holy Spirit is God Himself  within you.  The Holy Spirit is no less God and Power than is Jesus or our Father.  As long as you’re His, know that winning, strength  and victory are a done deal!  Sometimes trials take time; all you need to do is to see Him during those storms.  Always, keep of visual of our Mighty King on His throne before your eyes. Train your mind to do that.  Never let go of that vision.  You’ll soon find that your vulnerabilities – whatever they may be – will melt into strength and will never hurt you again.  You’ll be able to stop running away and enjoy the rest.

Don’t know Jesus?  CLICK HERE to find out how to receive His salvation.  Victory in this life, and eternity in the next one, awaits!  No one knows when death will come.  For some, it’s at the ripe old age of 95, for others, it’s at 5 years old!  Many times, death comes when people are perfectly healthy and enjoying life.  Don’t be unprepared.  Your soul is eternal and eternity is far too important to put this decision off another moment.

In all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him that loved us.
Romans 8:37

You are never helpless.  You are never alone.  You don’t have to fight your battles by yourself.  It’s not about the people around you – it’s about God within you!  Never forget Him.

“Fear not, for I Am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I Am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you
with My righteous Right Hand.”
Isaiah 41:10

Giants

The word, ‘giant’, can be used in many ways and has many applications.  In this brief post, I’m using it to describe those things in your life which cause you to feel  helpless to destroy.

What, or who, is YOUR giant?  A giant is something or someone that you perceive as overpowering… overwhelming… unconquerable.  The most famous ‘giant’ of all is Goliath from Scripture. As HUGE as he was, that’s how small David was beside him.  We all know what happened.  Little tween David used just one smooth stone to knock him down so that he could kill him.  David had the faith to know that he could conquer anything, as long as God was with Him.  He knew the Lord would always have his back – no matter what.  You say that David took 5 smooth stones with him – just in case?  He did take 5 stones with him; however, the other stones were to kill each of Goliath’s 4 brothers, in case he had to defend himself.  He knew that all he would need would be the one stone for each because when you yield to God, God conquers.

With God ALL things are possible.
Matthew 9:26

As is the case with just about every person in an addiction, the giant is your drugs or alcohol.  In the many years of my former addiction, my giant was my drugs.  I just gave in and gave up that I was unable to fight this giant because of the very real fact that I was dumbed down.  I nearly lost the fight in March of 2007, when I had a near death experience from the massive accidental overdose temporarily took my mind and  nearly took my life.  It wasn’t until I was fighting for my life in the CCU of a hospital, that I realized Jesus was the only way to live in order to never use drugs again!  I lived and was victorious over the death of what was my giant.  God was on my side and had my back because I was willing to let Him in.  I only needed one smooth stone!

This is NOT rocket science.  It’s all available in your own Back Yard!

Why do I share my private life when I was once in addiction?  It’s all in the two verses below:

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

If You Can ID Your Obstacles, You May Be On Your Path To Freedom

Have you ever given obstacles a thought?  You know… the things that come between you and your short and long term goals?  Most people see them as a road block, while others see them as a means of gaining strength by knocking them down.  Others don’t see them at all; they just get the idea that they cannot move forward in the direction that they would like to and consider them a no go for what they are looking towards.  How do YOU view obstacles?  Can you ID them?

The Bible says, “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me”. I choose to own that scripture and, so, I never give up.  During the darkest times that I ever had to go through in my former addiction, I knew that the Lord was with me and that He would never disappoint me.  He didn’t!  I won!  Through it all, I learned a life lesson to persevere… endure… stick around and win the race.   What about you?  Do you persevere or do you give up?  There’s a quote that says, “it’s not the mountain ahead of you, it’s the pebble in your shoe”.  Take off your shoe and shake out that pebble.  Then, full speed ahead.

Things to Consider as you Gain POWER Over Addiction – Yes, I said POWER!

Weakness and strength are two opposing powers – you can have one or the other.  The 12 Steppers would love you to believe that you are powerless over your current or former addiction.  They only reap their benefits when they brainwash you into thinking that you’ll never have power and strength.  The God of the Bible says differently.  He understands that the flesh is weak; however, He also knows that when we come to Jesus, we now have the Power of God Himself working within us through His Holy Spirit.  If you declare yourself powerless, then you are denying God ~ plain and simple.  Is that what you want to do?  Really?  In the day you enter eternity, do you want want to hear Jesus tell you, “good and faithful servant”; or, do you want Him to say, “I never knew you”?
In 2 Corinthians, chapter 12, verse 10, the Holy Spirit, through Paul, says, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I am strong. God cannot and does not lie.  So, just believe Him!  Is your Heavenly Father going to harm you?  Of course not!  He will love and strengthen you.  There is only one father of lies who is in this world to destroy you;  his name is Satan… the one who has infiltrated and who permeates the 12 Steps. NEVER give away of deny the power the Lord has placed within you.  As a Christian, it belongs to you!
