Does Forgiving Always Lead to Forgetting?

7524419_f520

Guilt and shame cause addiction.  They also walk together in causing depression and despair.  Forgiving and forgetting – with the full understanding of what both words truly mean –  have everything to do with this.  Let’s look at what our Master, Jesus, has to say about this when Peter asked this question, in Matthew 18:21-22 …….

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?  Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

What do we read from His Words and what do we read between the lines?  Clearly, Jesus says that we need to keep forgiving; however, as many times as He tells us to forgive, those times come to an end.  Simple math tells us that the number of times we need to forgive someone comes to 490. So, is that a literal amount of times that we keep a note of in our little forgiveness notebook, or, does it mean to keep forgiving without counting the number of times we forgive?  After all, constantly writing this down can be annoying and with probably errors.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on this; however, my personal opinion is that we just keep forgiving.  Jesus also says in Matthew 6:15 …….

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

In this passage, there is no number set on how many times we must forgive.  We always need to do exhaustive research by connecting other Scriptures in order to get the true meaning of any verses or passages.  My personal conclusion is that we must always  forgive in order to be forgiven. So, does forgetting always follow forgiving?

My next question is, what about forgetting the things that were done against us?  Now, that’s a horse of another color!  Jesus also says , in Matthew 7:6 …….

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Scripture is deeply multi-layered and usually has many applications.  One of the meanings of the above Scripture warns us that  there is a certain point in time that we must protect ourselves from ongoing hurt and abuse.  When it’s been too much, we shut down.  When we shut down, we are rendered useless to God, ourselves and others.  We don’t want to go to that dark place.  That’s the darkness when we become vulnerable to doing and thinking dark things.

No longer casting our pearls before swine is a point in time when we come to the harsh realization that we’ve been beaten each and every time we trust this person. So, we need to stop thinking that this time it will be different.  We can predict future behavior by past behavior unless there is a dramatic event that radically changes someone.  We must continue to hold on to forgiveness, as forgiveness is something that exists between our Heavenly Father and us.  It sets us free.  Forgetting, however, may be a different thing.  The ability to remember can actually be a protective shield for us. There comes a point in time, however, when we feel as though we are so badly bruised that we just cannot take another blow. That is the point, in my humble opinion, when we no longer cast our pearls before that swine (person).  It stops so that we can recover and re-fuel.  It becomes a time of healing… retrospection… introspection… and talking with the Lord. We must, however, make certain that this person has truly harmed us and it’s not our biased perception.  We cannot disconnect from someone just because we don’t like a few things they do, or the color of their hair, or because we are thin skinned and take something they say or do as offensive.  We need to make certain the the harm they keep doing to to us is truly ungodly and may even border on criminal.  We must also figure into this equation whether this person is a spouse… a child… a parent… or someone similar.  For those people in our lives, we need to seek Godly counsel in order to move forward together or separately.  A husband or wife who are both in Christ is yet another scenario.  God HATES divorce, so we must work especially hard to ‘fix’ a relationship, and each person independently, involved in that marriage so that our relationship here mirrors our marriage to Jesus in eternity.

Bringing it home

As Christians, we are held to a higher level of accountability – to God, to friends, to family, to co-workers, and even to strangers.  We must seek God in all areas of forgiveness and being able to forget.  There is no one answer that covers all situations.  Here, I have presented some ideas and scenarios; however, you need to dig deeply for each and every situation before you consider anyone to be ‘swine’.  Yes, life as a believer can, at times, be even more complicated that life as a non-believer.  We are accountable to God and must take that seriously.

Never live your life so that you have regrets.

The Psalm for the Addicted

This Psalm, Psalm 31, is one for the addicted person to read and own.  It was categorized as such by Rev David Wilkerson who went to be with the Lord.  He was (and still is) my hero and mentor. As a matter of fact, I became a certified Teen Challenge PSNC teacher in my recovery ministry because of him, his anointed wisdom from God and his solid teachings about addiction and the cure.

If you’re hurting, this one’s for YOU!

good-cry-960x5401In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord.

I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.

My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies’ sake.

Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.

Words + Action = Change

new-life

What differentiates us from the animal kingdom is the fact that we can communicate through words.  We can make our desires know, we can teach others, we can designate our choices, we are able to reply yes and no, we can give directions so that others don’t get lost, and we can create power by our words.

What happens if we don’t use words?

  • Without words no one has a clue as to your intentions or thoughts.
  • Without words, you build a wall between yourself and everyone else – including and especially those you claim to love.
  • Without words, you cannot achieve.
  • Without words, you appear hopeless, useless and hateful.
  • Without words, who can know us?
  • Without words, you end up living life between your ears only.
  • Without words, you ‘say’ to everyone, I don’t care about you, anyone else or anything.
  • Without words, you cannot live our faith, so we prepare ourselves for a very real Hell in eternity.  Think about the great commission- “preach the Gospel”. That requires words.
  • Without words, you tell God that He doesn’t matter, because you can’t trust Him to supply the words you need to say.
  • Without words, no one can know you or trust you.
  • Without words, you lie – by omission – and your truths are left unknown.
  • Without words, you render yourself powerless over addiction and life.
  • Without words, you are forever being misunderstood by everyone.

What happens if we use words, but don’t take those words to action?

  • Without action immediately following your words, you are a liar.
  • Without action immediately following your words, you are a hypocrite.
  • Without action immediately following your words, you are deceptive.
  • Without action immediately following your words, others learn never to trust you .
  • Without action immediately following your words, you are rendered useless.
  • Without action immediately following your words, you are not who you say you are.
  • Without action immediately following your words, you bring evil, hatred and quarrels.
  • Without words, you end up in Hell because God commands us to speak.  Who, of all our Bible heroes remained silent?
  • Without action immediately following your words, you are unable to do God’s will.
  • Without action immediately following your words, you place yourself in harm’s way.
  • Without action immediately following your words, you subject yourself to bullying.

So, what does all of this have to do with Addiction?

Words that propel you into action have everything to do with addiction because…

  • you cannot CHANGE without the commitment of words followed by action.
  • you remain in your addiction or keep finding it impossible to heal.
  • you are a liar and cannot transform into who Christ created you to be.
  • you define yourself as  a nobody and will fail every time, whether it be in healing,  marriage, school or work.
  • you can be addicted to silence and apathy – both a recipe for addiction.
  • you can never process your thoughts, which leads to confusion.

Change, resulting from words, with action behind those words, is what reflects that you have a balanced mind.  A balanced mind is what God undeniably gives you when you come to Jesus. Your mind is what proves you are a child of the Living God.

“For God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of Power, and of Love, and of a SOUND MIND. “

If you have no words, or your words are always filled with emptiness, you will not be able to get past your addiction.  On the other hand, once you come to Jesus, He gives you words, He propels you into action, and you change yourself and change others; you may even change the world!  The very beginning of healing begins with your words. What’s the answer?  Receive Jesus.

If… Then!

slide181

Wouldn’t you absolutely love to be able to say, I never have to worry about addiction again… it’s over and done… that was all in my past Well, I’m here to tell you that you absolutely can!  I have been able to declare this and have never had one moment of craving or considering going back to those dark days.  I can also tell you, with 100% certainty, that you also will never ever have to deal with disease, depression, despair or poverty either.  That’s a pretty bold statement you say? Well, it’s in the Bible; I couldn’t make this up.  Below this post, are God’s Words about blessings and curses.  There are many, many other verses that support this; however, I’m not here to re-print the Word of God, so I ask you to please do your own research.  After you have read, studied and researched, then – and only then – you decide.

For now, stay with me and try to trust me.  Please understand that I am not one of those name it and claim it apostate believers; neither am I one of those ridiculous prosperity people.  I am simply a child of God and take the Bible literally – just as God intended me to do. It is a very literal Holy Book.

A little background…

The world says that addiction is a disease from which will stem multiple relapses.  The TRUTH is that addiction being a disease is a theory devised by the two people that started the 12 Steps. They were both constantly going back to their addictions and had to figure out why.  So, they theorized that they had some disease that caused them to constantly relapsed.  By the way, they both died due to their addictions.  The world bought it!  It sounded good to the professionals and professional institutions treating addiction because it meant lots of money.  For those addicted, it was comfy because it gave them the excuse to keep using.  This is all a blatant LIE from the pit of Hell, which means it’s fake.  Addiction, spoken of in the Bible as rebellion – or sin – is fixable.   It’s fixable by receiving Jesus Christ, confessing this sin, and living for Him in all things and in all ways.  This is why I say, Yahweh (the True Name of God – in 3 Persons) is an If… then God.  IF we follow Him, THEN we are blessed in health, daily needs and safety.  Addiction is included in the forgiveness of sin and total healing.  Read your Bible and find out about His Majesty… His Forgiveness… His Love… His Mercy… and His Healing!

On earth as it is in Heaven is reflective of the fact that we can entertain some logic in the Lord’s Words.  Here, I’m talking about the ‘if… then’ principle. Transfer the conditions to which you would reward your children.  Do you or would you reward your kids for good behavior or bad behavior?  Do you or would you reward them for being rebellious or for being observant of your house rules.  Now, take that in the heavenly places with our God.  He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

HIS BLESSINGS FOR OBEDIENCE:

And it shall come to pass, IF thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, IF thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, IF thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; IF that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

THE CURSES FOR DISOBEDIENCE
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.
The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, The Lord Thy God;
Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.
And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

Shutting Down?

sad-womanHave you been told that you have no feelings… no remorse… no confidence… no hope… no peace?  Have those same people told you that you appear to be an angry, enraged person?  Have you been confused as to these accusations because you know that’s not who you are?  Have you actually be tagged a psychopath or a sociopath by those close to you?  Well, these types of people do exist in the forms of psychopaths, sociopaths and those with personality disorders; however, these ‘symptoms’ can exist with a completely normal person who has been deeply broken by people and experiences.

There comes a point when the mind just shuts down because it can’t take any more abuse.  It’s at that time when people tend to unplug and spiral out of control.  Can an appliance function when you pull the plug or remove its batteries?  Many, at that time, find an addiction that they think will carry them away to that beautiful and fragrant field of wildflowers where they can run free and become unscathed by the world’s evils and hurts.  We all know that a place like that doesn’t exist except in the place of our imaginations.  It’s the place of escape that holds us hostage until we can no longer function or feel anything. It’s at that point when addiction redefines you and you become someone else.  The addiction could be prescription drugs, illegal drugs, alcohol, porn, adulterous activities, shopping, gambling, gaming, TV, physical habits, isolating, too much partying, working long hours, etc.  By ‘addiction’, I’m talking about anything that takes you away from living a normal, healthy life.

Can this happen to a Christian believer in Jesus Christ… a born again child of the Living God?  Yes, it can, IF you take your eyes off your heavenly prize and back to the ways of the world.  It’s like watching the scenery while you’re driving will take you off the road and probably will get you into an accident that will harm you or someone else – or both.  So, when you take your eyes off the Lord Jesus Christ, you will begin your destructive spiral down.   This will lead to the breakdown of your life and addiction.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:26-27

Have You Asked Yourself, “Who Am I”?

Most of what I have written, to date, has been about my personal exodus out of addiction.  I’m as far from being a narcissist as anyone could be; however,  I just wanted you to know that complete healing is possible.  I am asking you to stand on the Word of God with me that says, “with God, ALL things are possible”. From today, and going forward, my posts will be directed to YOU and trying to help you discover who you are!  When Jesus spared my life after my near death, I promised Him that I would show others the same Holy Road that He took me on.  I care about your freedom and I want to lead you to the place where I am – a place where you will never have to fear addiction ever again; it’s the way Jesus taught me.  Once you arrive, you’ll just KNOW that getting free from addiction will never be a decision that you will make again.  You will never be hostage to anything again.

Addiction freedom is a destination to which I can give you the directions. I cannot put you there unless you follow them yourself. You’re going to have to walk there – barefoot.  Sometimes you even have to pull glass and rocks out of the bottom of your. BUT… the joy upon arrival is unspeakably spectacular and everlasting.  You’ll never have to walk that road again!

Now, back to the question.  Have you ever asked yourself, who am I?  Maybe you did and maybe you didn’t; but, if you have, have you been able to truthfully and knowingly answer that question?  Perhaps you’re struggling with it.  One of the common threads that exist within people enslaved by addiction is that they don’t know who they are and why they’re here, which leads them into feeling useless and hopeless.  Despair is the #1 cause of addiction.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
2 Corinthians 4:8-10

You see, your Heavenly Father created you with a purpose for which He chose only you to accomplish during your time here on earth. Never choose to be a slave of your past!  Do not let it own you.  The Lord knows you’ve been through an abusive childhood… that you’ve been bullied… that you’ave been abuses by your spouse… that you’ve suffered a horrific life in the foster care system… that you’ve been molested and raped by someone you trusted… that you’ve had to grow up in a broken home… that you’ve suffered the unthinkable  separation from someone who meant everything to you – through their death… that you’ve been through a teen pregnancy… that you’ve been somehow involved in sex slavery… that you’ve been into witchcraft… that you have involved yourself in criminal activities… that you’ve been in prison… that you have been through the torture of the death of your child… that you have had an abortion, or taken part in abortion procedures… that your mind keeps focusing on your nightmarish regrets… and other things that this broken world may have done to you.  I’m here to tell you that all of these nightmares have contributed to who you are, your endurance, and the strength you have.  After all, you’re alive and reading this, aren’t you?  For the past 11 years, I have been able to use the nightmares I’ve been through to mentor, coach and counsel others in the recovery ministry God gave me.  In many things, I can say I’ve been there, done that, and I’m still here and better than ever!

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

1 Peter 4:12,13

So, who are you? If you don’t know, ask yourself, who do I want to be?  That is a very transforming moment.  “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.”  Those thoughts of who you want to be, come from the Lord.  He will feed your purpose into your  spirit and the transformation will begin.  Don’t know how to take it from there?  Specialized coaching can help.  Sound spooky or crazy?  Well, the Bible is a supernatural book; it’s ALIVE!

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:17,18

One of my favorite songs’ lyrics, by Casting Crowns, is below.  Enjoy!

                     Who Am I
Who am I, that the lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the bright and morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?
Not because of who I am
But because of what you’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who you are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still you hear me when I’m calling
Lord, you catch me when I’m falling
And you’ve told me who I am
I am yours
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me?
Not because of who I am
But because of what you’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who you are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still you hear me when I’m calling
Lord, you catch me when I’m falling
And you’ve told me who I am
I am yours
Not because of who I am
But because of what you’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who you are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still you hear me when I’m calling
Lord, you catch me when I’m falling
And you’ve told me who I am
I am yours
I am yours
I am yours
Whom shall I fear, whom shall I fear?
‘Cause I am yours
I am yours

Addicted?

Are you addicted? Does there seem to never be the right time to begin that amazing road to complete recovery? Do you realize your addiction is not a disease, so you cannot have relapses as you may have been told? Do you understand why addiction has never been proven to be a disease? Do you understand that brain changes during an addiction resolve to normal within one year of detox? Did you know that just about anything causes brain changes that come and go? Do you realize that addicted individuals are big business to doctors, psychiatrists and rehabs, so keeping you believing that you’ll always be recovering for the rest of your life, keeps a lot of greedy professionals ‘in the money’ and not necessarily ‘in the know’? Do you know that the Bible has ALL the answers about addiction and how you can experience complete healing? Did you know that the Bible is the true ‘Manual’ of how to live an extraordinary life? Recovery – A Festive, Hopeful & Happy Experience!

Recovery is exciting – or at the least, it should be.  It’s a road that leads to a lifetime of freedom from addiction.  What could be better than that?  You come out of darkness, end your suffering, replace emptiness with fullness, despair  turns into hope, confusion is no more, anger leaves, and slavery to drugs or alcohol is over.

What has given Recovery a bad name?  Well, that’s easy to answer.  It’s the anonymous, dysfunctional and useless 12 steps rehabs and support groups.  They all lead nowhere and base all of what they do (and they do nothing) on fake disease & relapse theories.  Their job is to keep you coming back because recovery is BIG BUCKS to these unethical people.  We have people coming to us who have been brow beaten, told they would never recover, have been put down, have been preyed upon as if they were animals, and given no hope.  How dare they do this to humans!

Please don’t give up!  Recovery can be the most exciting time of your life – with new chances, a new life, renewal, and a powerful awakening.  Please check us out HERE and see what the possibilities are.

How to Get to Hell Because of an Addiction

idolatry-is-adultery-and-it-kills

Go warns against idolatry.  Creating an idol can be very insidious and can be done without realizing it.  An idol isn’t just a statue as was the golden calf, in scripture. An idol is something or someone that exceeds the importance of God.  It comes first – before the Lord.  An idol doesn’t have to be a physical object.

At the time, I didn’t realize that my addiction was an idol.  I thought I had been saved; however, I realized later that I was on my way to Hell.  God is a jealous God.  Putting anything else before Him is adultery to Him.  It’s serious. Before March of 2007, the power within me to use drugs was so overwhelming that my mind couldn’t have received the truth about idolatry – that’s what addiction does.  Are you willing to risk your eternity in Heaven for a temporary high on earth?  We’re here for such a short time.  Our lives end here and begin again, upon death, in Heaven or Hell – one of two places of our own choosing by accepting or rejecting Jesus Christ.

If you are in an addiction, please get help today by checking into a hospital or facility detox unit.  NEVER do it on your own.  After that, join our individualized recovery program from the comfort of home.

Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
Exodus 20:3

Trust is a Big Deal!

Yeshua bench sepia

Trust is a big deal.  You can’t just have it for anyone.  They need to earn your trust.  If they have ever disappointed you, regaining trust is most difficult.  Trust takes time to earn.  It involves experience after experience where that someone doesn’t ever disappoint you  with lying or deceit.  You know you can finally trust someone when you no longer suspect them of wrongdoing.  Trust is a difficult thing when it comes to humans; however it’s an easy thing knowing that you can blindly trust the God of the Bible – Jesus Christ.  It is He who I personally trust and He has never once betrayed my trust.  Who do YOU trust?  If you can bring yourself to trust HIM, you’re recovery will lead to being fully recovered – never having to worry about addiction ever again.
